History of the Institute

The School of Drama at MIT-ADT University, Pune, established in 2019, is a distinguished National Training Institute dedicated to shaping the next generation of acting and performance professionals. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to introduce students to the essential principles of acting while encouraging artistic exploration and experimentation. Core training emphasizes body work, voice modulation, emotional awareness, and imagination.

Housed in the iconic Raj Kapoor Memorial Auditorium, the school features a dedicated proscenium theatre, spacious classrooms, and versatile studios. Set within a scenic 125-acre campus along the Mula-Mutha river once home to legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor, the school offers a historically rich and inspiring environment.

The intensive B.A. Dramatics program follows a 60:40 practical-to-theory approach, training students in voice, movement, character development, and performance techniques.
