Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS) is an excellent choice if you are interested in healthcare and wish to work in a diagnostic and laboratory setting. Medical lab technologists play a vital role in detecting diseases and supporting doctors with accurate test results. This course provides hands-on training and exposure to modern laboratory equipment, and offers strong career opportunities in hospitals, diagnostic labs, research centers, and healthcare industries.
Graduates can start as Medical Laboratory Technologists, performing diagnostic tests in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, and blood banks. With experience, they can progress to roles such as Medical Laboratory Scientist and specialise in areas like Haematology, Microbiology, Clinical Biochemistry, Histopathology, or Molecular Diagnostics. They can also take on leadership positions such as Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist, Section Head, or Laboratory Director. Career pathways further extend to specialised roles like Clinical Research Associate, Transfusion Medicine Specialist, as well as academic and research positions, offering strong growth opportunities in India and abroad. Graduates can also pursue Non-Traditional Roles such as Application Specialist, Product Development Scientist, and Quality & Regulatory Specialist.
The 4-year programme is divided into six semesters with one year of job training. The first year covers foundational sciences, the second year focuses on core laboratory techniques, and the third year includes specialised diagnostic procedures followed by clinical internship in the Fourth year. Each semester has both theory and practical components.
Applicants must have completed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognised board. Students from PCM background with Biology as an additional subject are also eligible.
Yes, we offer merit-based scholarships covering up to 25% of tuition fees for outstanding applicants. Scholarships covering up to 50% of tuition fees on the basis of merit are available for students belonging to EWS category.
Our dedicated Career Development Cell offers comprehensive placement support, including resume building, interview preparation and hospital networking opportunities. We conduct clinical laboratory recruitment drives with various hospitals and diagnostic centres.
The programme includes preparation for national and international certifications like DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology) and ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) international certification. Students also receive additional certifications in specialised techniques like PCR, ELISA and Flow Cytometry.
Yes, in the fifth and sixth semesters, students can choose electives from specialised tracks including Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, Microbiology, Histopathology, or Molecular Diagnostics. Your final research project and internship can also be aligned with your specialisation interest.
Fees are payable semester-wise. The first instalment is due at the time of admission and subsequent payments are due at the beginning of each semester. We offer flexible payment options, including semester-wise, annual, or one-time full payment with applicable discounts.
Graduates can pursue an M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Research, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or other allied health sciences. Many of our students go on to specialise through post-graduate diplomas in specialised areas like Molecular Biology, Cytogenetics, or Blood Banking.
The tuition fee for the programme is ₹2.5 lakh per annum.
