Department of Professional and Aptitude Skills
MIT-SCIL’s Department of Professional and Aptitude Skills works on
students’ Professional development and its focus is
‘To provide
students with the platform where they can learn and enhance their
skills to be employable and become an entrepreneur’. With this
mission they impart Professional Skills and Employability Skills
trainings to our students as well as Performance Enhancement Trainings
to our Teachers and Non-teaching and administrative staff.
During the academic year they initiate a special credit course for the
students of MIT Art Design and Technology University to help students
chisel out a brand professional in them.
We have three Practice Areas in the department
For all the four-year B. Tech courses of the University our intervention
starts in their fourth semester in the form of two Credit per Semester
till the students reach in their sixth semester of the B. Tech Program.
In the seventh semester the students are provided with the industry
experience in the form of interaction, mock GD-PI with industry experts
to make the students fully ready for their profession. In case of the
three-year courses like BSc our intervention starts in the third
semester following the similar mentioned pattern.
Our Course Curriculum an amalgamation of thought process with unique
motif derived from Stephen Covey’s “Seven Habits of Highly effective
People”. It encapsulates a principle centred, character-based, inside
out approach where an individual’s development is defined and targeted
in terms of ‘Private Victory’ and ‘Public Victory’ incorporated as
Personal and Interpersonal Skills’ enhancement aligned with analytical
and critical acumen. It is a result of focused research adopting the
five levels of learning that encompasses:
This structure is deep rooted with a focus to provide our course
participants with a platform where they can learn and enhance their
knowledge and skills to be employable. A special experiential andragogy
adds to best of the learning experiences irrespective of mode of
delivery. With use of various interactive tools and platforms our
sessions are best of facilitative training resulting deeper
understanding and best learning experience for our university
students.
This specialized course structure design has an upgradation in lieu of
the World Economic Forum’s expected skillset. Every module is created
with thorough research. As a result, it has a unique matrix of the
desired competency and targeted skills that would be attained by our
trainees after successful completion of the course.
