In an effort to make quality design education more affordable and reachable to students from economically weaker sections, the institute offers Scholarships to all new, needy entrants. The MIT Institute of Design grants full or partial scholarships to 5% of the total students each year. The eligibility of the scholarships would depend upon the performance of the student and his/her financial needs. The interview panel will decide whether one is eligible for the scholarship. The scholarship application form should be availed by the applicant from the Institute office after getting admission to the Institute. Along with the duly filled scholarship form, one will have to attach necessary documents showing the income statements of the family members / guardians

Scholarships and Fee Concessions

MIT ADT University has implemented the Scholarship Ordinance with effect from Academic Year 2026-27. Various scholarships and fee concessions are available under this ordinance as follows:

1. University-Funded Scholarships and Fee Concessions
  • Merit Scholarships: Merit Excellence (ME), Merit Achiever (MA), Merit Performer (MP), and Merit-Based Support (MBS).
  • Need-Based Tuition Support (Financial Hardship): Tuition support for eligible students based on verified financial need.
  • Achievement-Based Tuition Credits: A fixed tuition fee waiver for verified achievements in competitions and sports.
  • Earn and Learn (Work-Study) Scheme: Part-time work opportunities with stipend/remuneration.
  • Staff Ward/Spouse Fee Concession (MAEER's MIT Group): Fee concession for eligible staff wards and spouses.
  • Programme-Specific Scholarships: Scholarships notified for specific institutes/schools such as MANET, SBSR, and IoD.
  • Ph.D. Research Scholar Scholarship Scheme: Administered by the R&D Cell.
2. Government Scholarships and Statutory Fee Concessions

Government scholarships, freeships, and statutory concessions (including EWS concessions, as applicable to private/self-financed institutions) are governed by the relevant Government notifications and portal rules.

3. Achievement-Based Tuition Credits (Competitions and Sports)

The University awards a fixed tuition fee waiver of 10% of the Tuition Fee for the relevant academic year to recognize verified achievements in national/international competitions (including Smart India Hackathon) and sports, subject to the annual cap and applicable conditions.

4. External / Third-Party Scholarships

External scholarships offered by private organizations, institutes, industry, foundations, CSR programmes, NGOs, or alumni may be routed through the University for verification, crediting to the fee ledger, or disbursement as per the sponsor's terms and conditions.
