Recently, I had the chance to represent my college,
Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education and Training, at the 8th International
Symposium hosted by our university on March 24-26, 2026. Many participants from
various colleges attended, as it served a platform for sharing innovative ideas
and knowledge. It was truly an honor for me to take part in this event.
MIT ADT’s marquee event brought colleges together for
field-specific showdowns, and MANET owned the waves with tracks in Marine
Engineering, Nautical Science, and Port & Ship Management. Our
session was a battleground of brilliance; teammates from MANET plus sharp
contenders from two other marine institutions. Every pitch packed a punch:
unique twists on safety tech, navigation hacks, and sustainability
smarts.
We dropped “A Modern Technological Approach to Enhance
Maritime Safety,” a deep dive into man-overboard nightmares, armed with AI
sensors, real-time alerts, and cutting-edge innovations to slash those
life-threatening risks. Facing a panel of judges and a buzzing crowd was pure
adrenaline. We faced questions from judges and cadets in audience.
Drumroll... we clinched 1st place for Best
Research Paper and 3rd for Paper Presentation! And this
triumph was a pure satisfaction and a payoff to endless preparation nights,
immersive focus, and guidance from mentors Capt. Kashish Sharma, HOD,
B.Sc. Nautical Science and Dr. Parul Malviya, Assistant Professor-English.
This was not simply a personal win, but a massive win for MANET, proving our
academy’s knack for breeding trailblazers. In addition to these accolades, the
conference offered me a wealth of knowledge and numerous learning
opportunities. I was exposed to a variety of ideas and viewpoints from
participants from various institutions. This experience significantly improved
my communication skills, critical thinking, leadership, and my ability to
present effectively under pressure.
Overall, taking part in and winning the 8th International Symposium was an unforgettable and extraordinary experience for me. It inspired me to delve deeper into innovative solutions and pursue excellence throughout my academic journey. It all felt real when we went onto the stage to receive the winners award at the valedictory session of the symposium on 25th of March, ’26. It was truly overwhelming to see that our academy and the university support and encourage research, innovation, and development.
I am truly thankful to my institution and mentors for their unwavering support, encouragement, and for allowing me the chance to represent our institution on such a prestigious platform. This achievement is a testament to the solid foundation and encouragement our institution provides in fostering student talent.
