Shaping Leaders of the Sea beyond Gender

In a world where the maritime industry has long been perceived as male-dominated, stepping into this field as a female cadet can feel both challenging and inspiring. At MANET, however, women empowerment is not just a concept in air, but it is something we experience every single day.

Hello everyone, I am Bhairavi, a SEM IV cadet studying B.Sc. Nautical Science at MANET and being here made me realize that women are just as capable of building a strong career at sea. As a female cadet of MANET, I feel that the idea of women empowerment is not just something we hear about, it is something we live here every day.

From the very beginning, I have been treated equally and given same opportunities as everyone else, whether it is attending classes, participating in extra-curricular activities, or preparing for future roles. Instead, the faculty here has always encouraged me to do my best and push my limits, which has really helped me grow.

One of the things I value the most is the on-campus environment. Modern infrastructure, secure accommodation, and a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination help students focus on their growth and ambitions without barriers. Here, I feel respected, and that gives me the confidence to focus on my studies and enjoy the learning process without fear or hesitation.

The support from faculty and mentors has also been a big part of my journey. There have been times when I have had doubts and needed help in academics, and having someone to guide reminded me that I am as capable. And since then, it has made all the difference. And yes, your teachers here at MANET are not only focused on academics, but they also genuinely promote your overall growth and want to see you succeed in life.

College life here it is also about developing your personality. Taking part in extracurricular activities, handling responsibilities, and going through practical training has helped me become more confident and independent not just as a female but also as a cadet. These experiences are slowly shaping me into someone who is ready to face real challenges in the maritime world.

I also feel inspired when I see other female cadets doing well, whether it is in studies, leadership roles, or placements. It motivates me to believe in myself and aim higher. Seeing them succeed makes me realize that I can do it too.

Being a part of MANET makes me extremely proud because it truly supports women and helps us move forward with confidence. It has given me a sense of belief in myself that I did not have before. I now feel more prepared to step into the maritime industry and create my own path.

Being part of MANET has taught me that empowerment is not just about having the same opportunities, but also about having the confidence to chase my dreams, face challenges, and know that I can make my own place in the maritime world.

If you are a woman looking to make a career at sea, MANET could be the destination for you!
