Two Days and a Lifetime Memory: My Naughtica 6.0 Experience

Hello readers, I am Reemaz Khot, a B.Sc. Nautical Science student of MANET and I recently participated in NAUGHTICA 6.0. March 20 & 21, 2026, the dates I got to experience what I would consider the best moments of my even semester.

Before I share my experience with you, let me tell you what NAUGHTICA is. An event organized by Offing Group, a fleet of senior professionals from the Maritime industry, who specialize in Maritime Education and Career Guidance, Naughtica is the biggest Inter-College event held between the Maritime Institutions across India. It is a stage where young aspiring cadets or precisely ‘Future Master Mariners,’ such as myself, to show off their talent across various competitions ranging from Technical Skills to fitness. Naughtica provides a plethora of opportunities to the cadets to compete across other maritime training institutions. And this year it was held on 20-21 March in Mumbai.

So, now that ‘You,’ my fellow readers, have understood what Naughtica is, let’s board the bus on how MANET won its first Naughtica trophy. To begin with, as I have mentioned the dates, it must be clear to you that it is a two-day event, where some each day is packed with an array of competitions. The finals are also conducted on the second day. We left MANET early in the morning on 20th March with fire in our eyes and victory in our hearts. Upon reaching, we were given an important task of creating a slogan for MANET. And a legend once said “MANET!!! DOMINATES!!!” Readers, count that as a subtle foreshadowing.

Moving forward with this slogan in our hearts as I was holding MANET flag in my hand, we entered the venue with tremendous energy, and it was not just MANET but every college had such a warm presence that it felt alive and vibrant just to be there and looking at all the glistening faces.

Day 1 began with opening ceremony followed by the flag hoisting by all the institutions (P.S. I was the one who went on the stage to represent MANET). Various events followed such as MindToss: A quiz competition, WowFactor: India’s got talent but on a smaller scale, Troupe Dance: DID first draft, Battle of Bands and Futsal: A football tournament. The media teams from the colleges were also briefed about the rules as they had to create a short film within 24 hours, and with that Day 1 came to an end.

Day 2 was even more interesting because it was the day when the winners were to be announced. But before we head for the climax, let me give you few glimpses of the events.

Day 2 had multiple ‘bring you to the edge of your seat moments.’ We had Nautifit: A fitness competition, Chess, Doodle Art, Rowing and Personality Contest. While the events were still happening, the Offing showed medal tally for the events conducted so far, and guess what?  MANET was atop the tally table with 13 points. Although after 2 Golds and 1 Silver, we didn’t claim any medal or victory in any event further, but MANET managed to keep its rivals from snatching its throne.

Readers, then came the time for the moment of truth.  All the competitions, hardwork and determination of all the cadets was minutes away from being rewarded. The moment when the winner was to be announced for Naughtica 6.0, all the eyes was hoping to see their academy’s name on top…

And then it happened, ladies and gentleman. For the first time in Naughtica’s history FOUR COLLEGES SECURED FIRST. Yes, there were 4 winners and MANET was one of them! It was the perfect gift from cadets to MANET as it celebrates its 25th Anniversary. That night our team rejoiced the victory by treating us with a dinner sponsored by the Academy.  The competition ended that day, but the memory of it stayed with me. I, as a cadet, experienced something beyond academics, and it made me learn many things which I will always keep in the corner of my heart. This is how I, we and MANET won Naughtica!
