“Embrace Art, Not Stardom” – Santosh Juvekar’s Inspiring Message at ‘Kaari-2025’ Festival
Pune: “An artwork lives far longer than the artist. It earns a place in history through its contribution, not its commercial value. Therefore, an artist must focus not on fame or business, but on meaningful creation that brings lasting peace and fulfillment.” This was the heartfelt message shared by renowned Marathi film actor Santosh Juvekar at the grand opening of ‘Kaari-2025’, the flagship arts festival of MIT Art, Design and Technology University (MIT-ADT), Pune. Juvekar emphasized that in today's creative fields, many claim to be ‘applied’ or ‘fine’ artists. “But more important than being an artist is nurturing the ‘Kaari’ – the creative spirit – within. Art stays with us till our last breath. One who truly loves art, deserves to be called human,” he said. The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Rajesh S., Vice-Chancellor of MIT-ADT University; Prof. Dr. Mahesh Chopade, Registrar; Dr. Milind Dhobale, Dean; along with Dr. Mukta Avachat, Chief Coordinator, and Dr. Viraj Kamble, Festival Coordinator. Veteran artist Suhas Bahulkar also addressed the gathering, explaining that the term ‘Kaari’ reflects the essence of creativity — something innovative, expressive, and transformative. “This festival unites all forms of art — visual, performing, media, design, and architecture — under one roof. MIT-ADT’s campus is a thriving confluence of artistic energies, shaping the artists of tomorrow,” he added. He lauded the university’s emphasis on art-centric education as visionary and essential.
