Pune: The Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024, hosted by MIT ADT University, concluded with two teams, Cybernauts and Signsense, taking home top honors in the hardware and software categories, respectively. The competition, organized by the Innovation Cell of the Union Ministry of Education and AICTE, saw a huge turnout of innovative projects from young tech enthusiasts.
The Cybernauts team from the School of Computing impressed judges with their cutting-edge solutions in the hardware category. The winning team members included Adil Deokar, Zoya Pathan, Pranav Bulbule, Mohit Pokle, Soham Bagul, and Aman Khan, under the mentorship of Prof. Pranav Chippalkatti.
In the software category, the Signsense team demonstrated remarkable ingenuity. Team members Chaitanya Pagare, Anindita Sanjhgiri, Ayushman Mishra, Om Bankar, Paras Salunkhe, and Sparsh Mahajan, guided by Prof. Disha Gabhane, emerged victorious.
In the software and hardware 400,183 teams registered this year. Only a handful advanced to the final round. Each team presented their projects to a panel of judges, who evaluated their innovations based on technical merit, creativity, and practical application. The winners were awarded trophies and cash prizes, and the top teams will now advance to represent the university at the state level.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by prominent figures, including MIT ADT University Executive Director Prof. Dr. Sunita Karad, Shailendra Goswami, Sunil Kulkarni, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ramachandra Pujeri, Dr.Mohit Dubey and other dignitaries.
This year’s SIH event at MIT ADT University marked a major success, reflecting the growing interest in technology and innovation among India’s youth.
