The School of Food Technology at MIT Art, Design and Technology University, Pune, organised an industrial visit to EKA PAK GLOBAL (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED, Lonand, Maharashtra, on 5 October 2026 for third-semester B.Tech. Food Technology students. Organised as part of the Food Packaging Technology course, the visit connected classroom learning with the industrial context of packaging materials, manufacturing processes and quality practices. Dr. Mahendra Gunjal and Dr. Yogita Chavan coordinated the visit for students. The programme included an introductory gathering, a presentation, interaction with industry personnel and exposure to a viewing area within the facility. These activities provided a context for understanding the role of packaging in food protection, storage, distribution and shelf life. The visit supported learning about material selection, barrier properties, package performance and the relationship between packaging and food quality. It also highlighted the relevance of hygiene, quality assurance, workplace safety and professional conduct in manufacturing environments. By bringing academic concepts closer to industry practice, the visit offered students opportunities for observation and discussion. The experience provided a foundation for classroom discussions and assignments, helping students develop a broader understanding of packaging manufacturers and their role in the food supply chain.
