MIT-ADT University Signs MoU with Over 48 Companies
Pune: The current education system produces more graduates than the job market can absorb, contributing to rising unemployment. To address this, students must be educated in entrepreneurship alongside research and innovation, leveraging the new education system, said Prof. Dr. Sunita Karad, Executive Director of MIT-ADT University. She emphasized that fostering entrepreneurship among students will help tackle unemployment and contribute to the nation's progress.
Dr. Karad shared these insights during a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing event hosted by MIT University of Art, Design and Technology at its Vishwarajbagh campus in Pune. The university formalized collaborations with over 48 leading companies from various industries. The event was attended by dignitaries, including Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mohit Dubey, Dr. Virendra Shete, Dr. Swati More, Dr. Atul Patil, Dr. Sapna Deo, and representatives from partner companies.
Highlighting the importance of aligning education with evolving market demands, Dr. Karad said, “The New Education Policy (NEP) prioritizes research and entrepreneurship among students. At MIT ADT, we adopted this approach even before NEP was rolled out nationally. Our curriculum focuses on innovation and practical learning, including programs centered around cutting-edge technologies like AI. Agreements with companies such as Tata Motors and Ample are already in place, and with 48 additional partnerships, our students stand to gain immense opportunities for growth and industry exposure.”
Dr. Mohit Dubey, addressing the issue of rising unemployment, added, “As the country’s population grows, the number of educated but unemployed individuals is also on the rise. To counter this, it is essential to move beyond traditional education and equip students with industry-relevant skills. The partnerships signed today are a step in that direction, ensuring our students are better prepared for the professional world.”
The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and prayers for world peace. The program's introduction was presented by Dr. Dubey, while Dr. Chhabhi Chavan delivered the vote of thanks.
