Pune (Loni-Kalbhor): The MIT Art, Design, and Technology University, located in Vishwarajbaug, Pune, celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm. The event began with a flag hoisting ceremony conducted by Lieutenant General Rajeev Chaudhary (Retd.), recipient of the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM).
Students mesmerized the audience with patriotic songs and dance performances. The event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including the university’s Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rajesh S., Executive Director Prof. Dr. Sunita Karad, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mohit Dubey, Registrar Dr. Mahesh Chopde, MANET Principal Captain Prerit Mishra, and Director of Student Welfare Dr. Suraj Bhoyar.
Addressing the gathering, Lieutenant General Chaudhary said, "India is truly a country that symbolizes unity in diversity. This diversity is evident in language, religion, culture, and age, which I witnessed at MIT ADT University today. Students must always remember that there is no substitute for hard work. Success and failure are two sides of the same coin. One must never lose heart in the face of failure; consistent efforts lead to success. Stay true to your duties."
Prof. Dr. Karad, in her speech, remarked, "This day reminds us of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters in India’s struggle for independence. The past year has been remarkable for Indian democracy, with progress in many sectors. It is essential for all Indians to utilize their rights responsibly and contribute to the journey of transforming India into a developed nation."
The program’s introduction, compering, and vote of thanks were carried out by the cadets of the university’s Maharashtra Naval Education and Training Academy (MANET).
