NEP PREPAREDNESS

(a) Vision and strategic plan clearly demonstrate for transformative impact on society through holistic education, multidisciplinary research ethos, innovation, entrepreneurship. The University vision statement is – “MIT ADTU aspires to be the University of Eminence by amalgamating Art, Design, Science and Technology. The University aims to have a transformative impact on society through holistic education, multidisciplinary research, ethos, innovation and entrepreneurial culture.”

(b) MIT ADTU is known for its unique blend of value based professional education in the areas of technology, healthcare, management…etc. MIT ADTU guides students to achieve their dreams and potential in this multidisciplinary university that waives the mosaic of integrity, commitment and dedication, carrying forward the baton of new tomorrow and contributing to the industrial and economic growth of the society.

(c) MIT ADTU introduced most of the principles of NEP, in academic curriculum, since its inception, year 2016, with amalgamation of Art, Design and Technology spread over eight multidisciplinary faculty. University started implementation from academic year 2023. Faculties consisting of Computing, Engineering and Sciences, Design and Architecture, Management, Arts, Marine, Bioengineering, Law, Film and media, following holistic education principles. With central institutes like School of Holistic Development which offer, courses like Professional English and Cambridge certification, foreign language, health practices and creative and performing arts. School of corporate innovation and leadership offers courses related to professional skills. Courses related to multidisciplinary minors are identified and their delivery shall commence from year 24-25. Environment Science courses are introduced to undergraduate programs. Further we have NCC and student clubs to boost interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary involvement.

(d) All the programmes offered under various faculties follow the flexible credit-based course structure. Under NEP, curriculum is designed so that students can choose Minors and Electives of their interest. Project based education, professional ethics, human values, environment and sustainability, research integration, are key areas of focus. Students design their projects as per the current trends in the industry, understanding local and global requirements which address environmental, social, ethical constraints and encompasses multidisciplinary components.

(e) Multidisciplinary implementation plan, entry exit guidelines included in program curriculum structure. University has taken the initiative of ensuring minimum desired level of multidisciplinary across all programs. Credit weightage would depend on the type and nature of the programme.

(f) CRIEYA, AIC acts as nodal institute to establish multidisciplinary research and innovation efforts with stakeholders to identify and address most pressing social issues.

(g) Good practices: Multidisciplinary Projects. Interdisciplinary programs like B. Tech: Bioengineering, B. Tech: Mechanical (AI & Robotics). Periodic arrangement of multidisciplinary conferences, hackathons, competitions.

(a) At MIT ADTU, ABC process is well established under the supervision of Controller of Examination which is fully functional. Total 15967 ABC Accounts created.

(b) University is registered with NAD (ID-NAD003243). Action plan towards permitting multiple entry and exit during the program is being formulated.

(c) Dedicated International office of international affairs, established 37+ active foreign HEI MoUs for student mobility, full time admissions, internships, FDP, etc. With ABC portal in place, students shall be able to take multidisciplinary online electives, minors from the international universities in collaboration.

(d) Faculty routinely design, amend academic delivery approach within the guidelines of BoS, Academic council. University encourages and supports for faculty to prepare textbooks and reading material. Assessments and assignments are as per guidelines of examination.

(e) ABC Good practices: ABC ID is mandatory to submit Online Examination Form. NEP cell has conducted NEP awareness sessions in university institutions to give ABC awareness to students.

(a) Skill development component to enhance employability is designed and delivered by School of Corporate Innovation and leadership (SCIL). Mini projects are introduced from early stage of curriculum as a part of Project based learning. Subjects like Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Design thinking are included in curriculum as a skill component. Mini projects are part of curriculum from early stage in technical institutes. Central T&P also conducts structured training and assessment for assessing skill components. School of computing has collaborated with Apple for Apple certification

(b) With NEP, university programs are included with vocational and skill enhancement courses. MANET program is based on vocational skill enhancement with real time experience in Ship In-campus.

(c) School of Vedic Science (SVS) contributes to Indian Knowledge system course. School of Holistic studies contribute to value enhancement course like health practices, yoga.

(d)MIT ADTU is also training partner for Tata Motors, John Deere for imparting skill based certification program in the field of electric vehicle.

(f) Good practices: Unique blend of University push for digitalisation and collaboration with digital platforms

(a) At MIT ADTU, School of Vedic Science contributes to creation and imparting of wisdom of Vedic sciences. IKS component is blended in curriculum structure of all programs under NEP.

(b) Bi-language courses are under consideration (ii) Indian arts and traditions are amalgamated extensively in curriculum of School of Architecture, School of Fine arts (SoFA), MIT Institute of Design (MIT IOD) in their curriculum. SoFA organised events in collaboration with KAARI. Indian culture is showcased in noteworthy work of School of Film and Technology (SFT) which is admired and awarded by national film award and Dadasaheb Phalke award by President of India.

(c) Good practices: Unique entities like World Peace Dome, Knowledge Centre, Building of VSKA, RK Museum demonstrate University commitment to IKS.

(a) At MIT ADTU, OBE approach is structured around clear, measurable outcomes. These outcomes are not limited to academic knowledge but also include cognitive, social, and emotional competencies.

(b) Programs focuses on what students are expected to learn and achieve rather than the traditional approach, which often emphasizes completing a curriculum or syllabus.

(c) In OBE, learning objectives in the form of the desired outcomes (skills, knowledge, and attitudes) are at Programme level (POs / PSOs) and Course Level (COs), and appropriate learning experiences are designed and delivered to facilitate attainment of the stated learning outcomes. Outcomes are assessed and attainment analytics are used to improve the academic quality.

(d)For OBE to be successful, teachers are trained with faculty development programmes which emphasize the importance of teacher professional development, including training teachers to use OBE frameworks effectively.

(a) NEP 2020 policy recommends boosting digitalisation in academic delivery. University is well prepared in this aspect while creating strong digital infrastructure.

(b)University has tie-ups with professional agencies such as, TCS iON, Coursera, NPTEL. With these collaborations, students shall be able to take Multidisciplinary courses, online electives. Faculty from various institutes are also encouraged and supported by university to create e-contents.

(c)University has dedicated ICT department which looks after digital infrastructure requirements software and ICT hardware, internet requirements. These skilling courses are planned to be offered to students through online and/or distance mode. Most of the classrooms are well equipped with ICT tools and equipment for ease and effectiveness of teaching and learning.

(d)Good practices: During Covid, we entirely used TCS iON for smooth academic delivery. End to end examination documentation on digital platform ‘ WeShine’
