Laboratories
  • MIT School of Architecture is equipped with a computer lab with latest and updated softwares namely AutoCAD, Modeling softwares like Sketchup, Rhinoceros, Lumion and Planning Tools for Students. These tools are used in the industry for presentation drawings and Building Information Modelling. Some like SketchUp and Rhinoceros are used for conceptual modeling.
  • GIS Laboratory: Geographical Information system laboratory is specially designed and equipped for the PG courses to cater to the needs of high resolution intense graphical output and faster processing of the data.
  • MIT School of Architecture is equipped with state of the art studios with ICT and conventional teaching facilities.
  • Climatology Laboratory of MIT School of Architecture is equipped with the conventional and advanced equipment to make the students understand fundamental concepts and perform experimentation.
  • Surveying Laboratory of MIT School of Architecture has equipment useful for the land surveying field work.
  • At the construction yard, students explore with materials - bricks, concrete, sand, bamboo and other construction materials by constructing domes, arches and various brick bonds. This helps students understand handling materials.
  1. Carpentry Workshop: Students of architecture explore with various materials wood and bamboo during their architectural skills courses. The shared facility of the carpentry workshop gives them the necessary exposure to the tools and techniques used in carpentry along with various joinery details.
  2. Concrete Technology Laboratory is a common facility provided by the University useful to understand the fundamentals of concrete as a building construction material.
  3. 3D Printing: Students of architecture have the opportunity for rapid prototyping with a fully equipped 3D printing laboratory. Precise scaled building models are possible due to the availability of this shared facility.
  4. CINTIQ/Wacom lab: The CINTIQ lab offers the possibility of digital sketching and illustration.
  5. Sculpture Workshop: Sculpting studio is a common facility provided by the University to explore forms and volumes.
