Information Technology has now become an integral part of all technology areas. It has also marked its relevance in other industries in the form of IT- enabled services (ITES). Adoption of ITES has made businesses more productive and cost-efficient. The growth in software technology has been rapid due to high quality research in hardware, software and network technologies. The use of Information Technology in daily life has been a significant contributor to the global IT market thereby leading to immense opportunities for IT professionals at the global front, including government sectors. To meet this need for skilled professionals, the Information Technology Department at the School of Computing focuses on offering quality teaching in state-of-the-art well-equipped infrastructure.

The B. Tech-Information Technology (IT) program offers a four-year course of eight semesters that offers students specializations in Core IT, Data Analytics (DA) and Software and Mobile Application Development (SMAD) to choose from. The M. Tech-Information Technology (IT) is a two-year program of four semesters that offers specialization in Cyber Security as well as M.Tech (By Research) which is a 3-year program. Additionally, Ph.D. programs are offered to candidates that are keen on research. The programs offered at the Department of Information Technology promise to give the students hands-on experience to put their knowledge into practice and implementation for industry readiness.
