The Naval Connection” organized the Future Skills Maritime (FSM) Global Conference at Goa on 15th & 16th March 2024 in collaboration with MANET as a platinum partner.

The Future Skills Maritime (FSM) Global Conference is one of India's largest hybrid Conference and Networking forum that was organized by ‘The Naval Connection’ at the picturesque location of ‘Bogmallo Beach Resort’ in Goa on 15th & 16th March 2024. FSM-2024 Global Conference is one of India's largest hybrid Conference and Networking forum where thousands of delegates worldwide engage with each other over 2 days of thought leadership into the future of maritime training and skill building. FSM is a dynamic forum where key stakeholders of the maritime industry converge to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and foster collaboration. FSM-2024 promises to be a valuable platform for learning and networking.

MIT Art Design & Technology University's 'Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education and Training' (MANET) was a platinum partner for the event. The conference was attended by dignitaries from Maritime industry, academics & governance. Dr. Pramod Sawant, Honorable Chief Minister of Goa, was the Chief Guest for FSM 24 who addressed all the audience in online mode. The notable personalities were felicitated by Prof. Dr. Mangesh Karad, Executive Director & Vice chancellor, MIT ADT University, Prof. Dr. Sunita Karad, Executive Director, MITCOM, Prof. Dr. Ramchandra Pujeri, Pro Vice Chancellor, Capt. Prerit Misra, Principal, MANET, C/E Rajiv Kashikar, Head Placement cell and the MANET team.

Prof. Dr. Mangesh Karad initiated the concept of the 'Sagar Ratna Award’ for acknowledging excellence, stimulating innovation, and fostering collaboration. As a token of gratitude for the exceptional contributions by various shipping companies and maritime industry officials MANET, MIT ADT University had awarded them with the 'Sagar Ratna Award'. Overall, the event was a grand success with personages from maritime industry attending conference across the globe.


CMMI – NCRTC organized a conference in collaboration with MANET on the topic “Mental Health and Wellbeing of Seafarers” on 6th March 2024.

The CMMI – NCRTC organized a conference in collaboration with MANET, Pune on the topic “Mental Health and Wellbeing of Seafarers”. The conference was held on 6th March 2024 in MANET Auditorium at 11:00 hrs. The aim of the conference was to introduce the concept of mental health and address doubts and queries of young cadets regarding mental health.

This conference was very insightful. Capt. Randhir Mahadik, Head of Fleet Care at Fleet Management Ltd and Master Mariner was the honorable chief guest of the event. He was accompanied by stalwarts from the shipping industry, Capt. Vinod Suryavanshi, CTO and Head of Cadet Selection, Fleet Management, Capt. Shrirang Gokhale, head of CMMI Pune Chapter and Capt. Gajanan Karanjikar, Director Cordelia of Marine Services. The hallmark of this event was indeed the participation of clinical psychologist, Ms. Divya Nair, the clinical Psychologist with Fleet Management in the Fleet Care.

The insightful thoughts and advice of these experts managed to unveil various aspects of mental health that were hitherto unknown to cadets before. Their initial interaction with the cadets enabled them to gain a deeper understanding about the importance of mental health not just on-board ship but even in their day-to-day life. The conference on Mental Health has shed light on the critical importance of prioritizing psychological well-being within this demanding industry. Through insightful discussions and innovative strategies shared by experts, it is evident that proactive measures must be implemented to support seafarers' mental health, including strong support systems, accessible resources, and enlighten efforts.

The program was concluded with vote of thanks to the attendees.


Light Up Lives and Dreams - A Social Extension Activity” organized at Sarthak Seva Sangh Orphanage in Ambale village, Purandar Taluka, on February 10, 2024.

MIT ADT University’s Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education and Training (MANET) often organizes social events for the community. MANET cadet’s sense of unity and solidarity is fostered by these activities, which promote mutual respect, understanding, and awareness of differences. The cadets acquire excellent civic and human traits as a result. Through such initiatives MANET cadets gets the chance to socialize, form emotional bonds, and feel like they belonged. Through this exercise, cadets were able to establish friendships, exchange experiences, and hone their social skills in a nurturing communal environment.

Dr. Archana Bhange, an assistant professor at MANET, skillfully handled the entire event. Vice- Principal Professor Shrikant Gunjal and Principal Captain Prerit Misra extended strong support for the initiative. Without the unwavering support and encouragement of Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mangesh Karad sir, the event would not be achievable. Dr Ramchandra Pujeri was a great supporter of the initiative.


Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Effective Teaching-Learning Methodology – “Embark-3.0”

The Faculty Development Program (FDP) "Embark-3.0" was successfully conducted at MANET, MIT-ADT University, Pune, from January 13 to January 17, 2025. This five-day transformative program aimed to enhance educators' teaching methodologies, foster academic excellence, and promote professional growth. The event brought together distinguished speakers, dedicated faculty members, and an enthusiastic organizing team to create a collaborative learning environment.

The primary objectives of the program were to equip educators with innovative tools and methodologies to enhance their teaching practices, provide insights into research-driven content delivery, align academic practices with NAAC standards and institutional goals, and facilitate professional development through interactive and practical sessions.

The program featured expert-led sessions by esteemed speakers who shared their expertise on diverse aspects of teaching and research. Dr. Pralhad Tipole delivered insights on research methodologies and academic excellence. Dr. Atul Patil discussed the importance of time management. Dr. Uma Godase focused on innovative teaching tools and their applications with the help of MS-Excel. C/E Adwait Londhe provided insights into lesson planning and execution as per the D.G. Shipping, while Prof. Govind Ghule emphasized enhancing academic efficiency through technology.

Practical workshops were conducted to provide hands-on experience in various areas, including lesson planning and curriculum design, content preparation for effective delivery, and time management techniques to improve productivity. These sessions were complemented by interactive discussions that addressed the alignment of academic delivery with NAAC standards and strategies to achieve institutional goals through enhanced teaching practices.

The program also explored cutting-edge tools such as ChatGPT and G-Suite, demonstrating their practical applications for improving academic efficiency and collaboration. These sessions provided participants with a deeper understanding of how technology can be leveraged to enhance educational outcomes.

The "Embark-3.0" FDP was a resounding success, leaving participants enriched with new knowledge, methodologies, and tools to advance their teaching practices. This initiative reflects MANET’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and continuous professional growth. Academic Monitoring Committee (AMC) members, Prof. Tejaswini Yadav and Dr. Archana Bhange, made significant contributions to the successful execution of the five-day FDP. The FDP concluded with a vote of thanks.
