Eligibility:
For applying for admission to the PhD program at MITADT University in a related subject
in the faculty, applicants fulfilling any of the following criteria shall be treated as eligible:
- Applicants are expected to hold good academic record like, having passed X, XII Std,
Graduation, Post-Graduation with first division i.e., at least 55% marks or equivalent
Grade Point Average (GPA). Five percent (5%) relaxation in the required percentage
of marks will be given to the students of State of Maharashtra belonging to
SC/ST/DTNT/SBC/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) OBC
categories.
- 2 years master’s programme after 3 years of bachelor’s degree or 1 year Master
programme after 4 years of bachelor’s degree declared equivalent to the master’s
degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in
aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed.
- Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s
degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its
equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed. A
relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to
SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently Abled, Economically Weaker Section
(EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from
time to time.
- Integrated M Tech or one year Master degree after four year UG would be allowed.
- Foreign candidates (applicants) with 50% or equivalent GPA at master’s degree level.
- Candidates who have completed the M.Phil. programme with at least 55% overall
marks, or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever grading is used, or equivalent
qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and
accreditation agency that is approved, recognised or authorised by an authority,
established or incorporated under a law in its home country, or any other statutory
authority in that country to assess, accredit candidates.
- Senior citizens with master’s degree may also apply. However, their eligibility is
subject to recommendations of the Dean of faculty concerned and final approval by
the Vice-chancellor of MIT ADT University.
- A candidate who is appearing for final year or final semester of the post-graduate degree
examination will also be eligible to appear for the admission process subject to the fulfilment
of minimum eligibility criteria in the result thereof.
Exemption from Ph.D. Entrance Test:
The candidate fulfilling at least any one of the following conditions will be exempted from
Entrance Test for Paper – I & Paper II (such candidate appear for in person Interview)
- Qualified in GATE (valid score*) / SETAIET= SET/NET/ JRF / SRF examination of
the apex bodies such as CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT and DST Inspire fellowship only.
- M. Phil. Degree in a relevant subject obtained from any Recognized University.
- Candidates with 10+ years of Industry research experience in relevant field (such
candidates are required to approve the application for exemption of PET 23 from
office of Research & Development Cell on priority)
Important Note:
All Applicants to note the following:
- All the Applicant seeking admission to
PhDProgramme of MIT ADT UNIVERSITY Pune are
required to ensure that they satisfy the eligibility
criteria as given on the website before they apply
and pay the Registration Fee.
- No refund of Registration fee will be made
if the candidate is found ineligible.
- Approval of Application Form or permitting
the candidate to appear for PET 21 and the Interview
does not automatically make them eligible for
admission to PhD programme of any discipline/
School/ Institute.
- All Admission to PhD programme will be
subject to eligibility criteria and the requirements
as per University norms/ regulations.
Application Process:
Before filling the online application, candidates are advised to check
the vacancy in the faculty or discipline of interest in the SEAT MATRIX.
Fill in online application form, pay the
registration fee online.
Candidate shall upload the following documents:
- Fee payment receipt.
- Marks Statement of Master'sDegree.
- Caste Certificate in case of Reserved Category
Candidates (if applicable).
- Medical Certificate issued by Civil Surgeon in
case of Persons with Disabilities (P.H.) candidates

Document required for exemption from
Entrance test
- Valid Score Card / Certificate of GATE
/GPAT/SET/SETAIET=SET/NET/IET/JRF/SRF.
- M. Phil degree Certificate.
PhD Entrance Test (PET)
The PhD Entrance test (PET) would be conducted on
08th July, 2023 would consist of two papers
Paper-I: General Aptitude Test.
Paper-I consists of the following:
- Logical Reasoning
- Numerical Ability
- Reasoning & language Aptitude
- Research Aptitude
Total Marks: 50 Total Questions: 50 MCQs (1 Mark Each & 1
Hour time duration)
Paper –II: (Subject Specific Test)
- Multiple Choice Questions
Total Marks: 100 Marks (1 Mark Each & 1.5 Hour time duration)
Note:
- All questions with multiple choices, each
correct answer carries 1 Mark.
- No negative marking system.
Duration & Timing of Entrance Exam:
Paper I: 09.30 am to 10.30 am
(1hrs)
Paper II: 11.30 am to
1.00 pm (1.5hrs)
- The PhD Entrance Test (PET) for all
candidates (PET appeared and PET exempted) will
be followed by the Interview by the
respective Departments (Program) same day from 02.30
pm onwards.
- The candidates who are shortlisted from above
process will be eligible for the PhD provisional Admission.
The induction and course work of the PhD
program would commence from
1st September 2023.
