Why should I join Bioengineering course?

Should I choose B.Tech. or integrated M.Tech.?
  • Both offer same opportunities and the coursework is similarly crafted minor differences lie in the duration of the project work
  • M.Tech: Saves you one year and one can directly appear for PhD courses or join a company. MTechhas a 1 year project.*
  • B.Tech: If you want to pursue a MS degree in foreign university. Btech has a 6 months project.
  • *Admission to MTechcourse required a higher merit in 12thand good CET score.
What are the job prospects?
  • Very good.The specializations (bioinformatics,biomedical and biotechnology)open up vast avenues in related industries as well as IT and healthcare sectors,speciality hospitals etc.

Common profiles include:

  • Data scientists: highly paid in IT industry, cloud computing, hadoop, map reduce, R, python.
  • Pharma: drug design, molecular modelling, materials
  • Biomedical: Hospitals, clinics, devices, bionic hand, artificial organs, instrumentation, imaging, artificial intelligence.
  • Biotechnology: nanomedicine, vaccine design

What if I don’t have either Biology or Maths background ?

Only the basic principles of biology and engineering along with sufficient levels of mathematics and statistics will be taught in the first year.

  • A team of dedicated faculty will provide tutorials and remedial courses should you lag behind in any subject.
  • The course curriculum framework has been designed in consultation with industry match your training with the industry requirements.Industry is ready to accept you as a trainee and absorb in the near future based on performance.
  • You will have the freedom to choose the elective in the fifth/sixth semester after understanding your interests and aptitude.
What are the specializations available?

Our professors will work with you closely so that by the time you are in third year you will gain clarity on which specialization you are inclined for

  • Biotechnology:If lab experiments interest you,using microorganism to do tasks–making medicine,vaccines,detoxifying environment,making better crops.
  • Bioinformatics:If you develop more inclination towards IT,handling big data,computing,modeling,new algorithm development.
  • Biomedical:If you develop interest in imaging,building bionic hand,rehabilitation engineering in hospitals, developing smart sensor based device, intelligent,robotics,instrumentation,biomaterials.
Examinations and Grading Patterns

MIT ADT University follows Credit system
CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average)

Minimum:

  • UG course (BTech) : CGPA 5.5
  • PG course (integrated MTech) : CGPA 6.0
  • Grade Card : Percentage of marks = CGPA x 8.9

Division:

  • First with honours: > 8.0
  • First: 7.75-8.0
  • Second: 5.5 (UG) 6.0 (PG)

How is it different from other similar courses?

Eligibility criteria
  • Minimum 50 % aggregate in 10 +2 level with either Maths or Biology as one of the subjects.
  • Grade card of MHCET or CET of any state or IIT JEE or NEET national entrance exam
  • MITNAT exam conducted by MIT ADT University Top 90 Percentile (last date is 15thJuly)
