Duration: 4 Years

Eligibility: Bachelor of Technology in Bioengineering
  • Admission will be on merit, based on CET/NEET/JEE Main scores basis wherein preference will be given to students Biology or Maths with Chemistry and Physics as core major subjects.
  • Students outside Maharashtra will be considered based on score in JEE conducted by Central Board or or NEET or state CET scores.
  • Students without either Maths/Biology at the 10+2 level will be encouraged to undertake a remedial course (3 credits) for the same during the first semester of the B Tech degree program.
  • Candidate should have passed the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject AND Secured minimum 50 % marks in the subjects.
Admission Procedure: Bachelor of Technology in Bioengineering Sciences and Research
  • CET is compulsory for MH students. JEE is compulsory for outside MH students.
  • Students need to download the application form from the university website, fill it and send it with the required application fee (by demand draft only) to the university.

M.Tech.(Environmental Bioengineering)

Duration: 2 Years

Environmental bioengineering is the branch of bioengineering that applies engineering principles of design and analysis to addresses environmental problems, such as the removal of pollution, waste management, renewable energy generation or biomass production by biological treatment process. The students will be sensitized and trained in real world problems especially in the Indian context for maintaining the ecological sanctity. Accordingly the course has been designed with a very practical view to inspire young graduate students/ young bachelor degree holders to pursue a career in sustainability engineering at our esteemed institute endowed with good teaching and research facilities in biotechnology, bioinformatics and biomedical engineering. At the end of the program the student will be expected to have:

  • An in-depth understanding of the environment and the technology interventions that can be developed from the bioengineering perspective.
  • Ability to undertake original research in any area of waste management
  • Advanced simulation and modelling tools to understand scale up process and associated environmental costs.

M.Sc. (Industrial Biotechnology)

Duration: 2 Years

Industrial biotechnology, a major subcategory of biotechnology involves bio-based production of pharmaceuticals, enzymes, nutrients, eco-friendly polymers, biofuels etc. Recent advances in industrial biotechnology permits new applications for biomass waste for resource conservation, emissions reduction and circularity making it an environmentally and economically sustainable technology. M.Sc. Clinical Research

Clinical research is a branch of medical science that investigates new treatments, drugs, medical devices, and procedures to determine their safety and effectiveness in humans. It involves systematic studies, including clinical trials, where participants are monitored under controlled conditions. The School of Bioengineering Sciences & Research aims to impart a two year PG program for the students aspiring to a career in the field of clinical research.

The program is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and practical skills in the field of clinical trials, drug development, regulatory affairs, and ethical considerations. The program includes hands-on training, internships with CROs (Contract Research Organizations), hospitals, or pharmaceutical companies. This program will open several avenues in the field of development of healthcare interventions like drugs and medical devices. On successful completion of the program, the candidates can work as Clinical Research Associates (CRAs), Regulatory Affairs Specialists, Clinical Data Managers, or in roles related to drug safety and medical writing.

The program focuses on equipping students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for conducting and managing clinical trials. It lays emphasis on some key areas like Clinical Trials and site management, Data Management in Clinical Research, National and global regulatory guidelines, Pharmacovigilance and Safety Monitoring, SAS Programming and electronic data capture systems etc. By the end of the program the students will develop comprehensive knowledge of clinical research, regulatory and ethical compliance, trial design, execution and data analysis, and pharmacovigilance. Eligibility: PhD in Bioengineering

Candidates from science and technology background seeking admission to the PhD Program, whether full time or part time, shall have to possess requisite percentage of marks / grade point average in qualifying examination as indicated below:

For candidates with MSc qualification:

  • The required minimum qualification for admission to a PhD Program shall normally be a two years Master’s or M.Phil Degree from any accredited Indian or Foreign University in the relevant field. She/he must have obtained either a minimum of 60% marks or Equivalent Grade in the M.Phil degree or in the Master’s Degree (for all disciplines except Engineering and Technology). In addition, overall 60% at all academic levels will be desirable.

For candidates with MTech/BTech qualification

  • Applicants with M. Tech / BTech / M.E./M.S. qualification in relevant disciplines with excellent academic record with minimum CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale or equivalent or 60% marks and with 60% aggregate in Xth , XIIth and B.Tech /B.E. will be considered eligible for admission in PhD Programs in Engineering and Technology.
  • Applicants with M.B.B.S./BDS degree or equivalent in relevant discipline with excellent academic record with minimum CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent or 55% marks may be considered eligible for admission to PhD Programs in the relevant field.
  • Foreign/ NRI applicants / Applicants with a Masters‟ degree from a foreign university must apply with an equivalence certificate of AIU along with the Online Application Form
