B.Sc. (Hons.) Psychology

Duration:4 years (8 Semesters)

Eligibility:Students who have passed 10+2/12th/H.Sc.examination recognized by Government competent authority with an aggregate 50% Marks for general category (5% relaxation in case of backward class categories and a person with physical disability belonging to Maharashtra state candidates only.)

Program Description:The B. Sc. (Hons.) Psychology program at the School of Vedic Sciences, MIT ADT University is designed by keeping the NEP 2020 into consideration, and explores human behavior, cognition, and emotions through core subjects like Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Biopsychology, Cognitive Psychology and Psychological Testing. Students are given intensive practical training through lab sessions which are offered in all the years.

The NEP curriculum offers students the opportunity to study multidisciplinary courses through Minor and Open Electives. The unique feature of the program is its emphasis on Indian Knowledge Systems that are taught in alignment with contemporary theories. Students are taught multiple compulsory IKS based courses which equip them with a broader understanding and varied approaches to their study of human nature.

The curriculum is also designed to aid in holistic education through courses like Health Practices, Societal Immersion, Spirituality and Morality Course, English Communication and Foreign Languages.

Students who complete the 4 Years Honors Program can pursue a one year Master's degree or Doctoral studies in psychology (eligibility is 7.5 CGPA and an Honours with Research degree). The students will also be eligible to apply for the RCI recognized Master’s degree introduced in replacement of the MPhil degree. The curriculum is also designed to prepare students for professional work right after graduating with the BSc Hons degree.

Career Options:Candidates after completing the course in Bachelor (Hons) Psychology will be able to:

  • Apply for higher education and be eligible to obtain a masters in specialized fields of psychology. For students with B.Sc. Psychology Hons degree, direct admission into 1 year Masters program.
  • Work or intern under a Counselling/Clinical/Industrial Psychologist, but it must be noted that a B.Sc. Psychology degree is not a professional degree and hence this degree alone does not qualify students to work as a professional psychologist.
  • Meritorious students may be eligible to apply for a Ph.D. program or M.Psy. (previously M.Phil.) program after obtaining the 4 years B.Sc. Hons Degree

Program Description:The MSc Clinical Psychology program at the School of Vedic Sciences, MIT ADT University offers in-depth knowledge of mental health, psychological disorders, and therapeutic techniques. Core subjects include Adult Psychopathology, Psychotherapeutic Modalities, Psychotherapy, Cognitive Psychology, Child Psychopathology, Research Methodology, Counseling, and Psychological Assessments. This course offers the students a wide range of electives to choose from such as Trauma and Crisis Intervention, Rehabilitation for Severe Psychological Disorders, School Psychology, Therapies for Sexual Dysfunction, Career Counselling are to name a few.

The program combines theoretical learning with practical training, case studies, and supervised internships in healthcare settings. This also includes hands-on training at the 'Center of Integral Well-being' run by the Department of Psychology, School of Vedic Sciences, MIT ADT University. Students who successfully complete this program can work as psychologists, counselors, mental health professionals, or researchers in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, NGOs, and corporate wellness programs. Further studies like MPhil. or PhD. enable specialization and licensure. The program equips students with diagnostic, analytical, and therapeutic skills, preparing them to support individuals' mental well-being in diverse professional settings.

Program Description:The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Psychology at MIT Art, Design and Technology University, Pune is a research-intensive doctoral program designed to advance the scientific study of human behavior, mental processes, and psychological applications across diverse contexts.

This program provides scholars with an opportunity to engage in original, independent, and interdisciplinary research contributing to theoretical understanding and practical innovations in the domains of mental health, organizational behavior, education, neuropsychology, digital mental health, and Indian knowledge systems of psychology.

The Ph.D. (Psychology) program is offered under the School of Vedic Sciences in accordance with the Ph.D. Ordinances, 2023 of MIT-ADT University, and conforms fully to the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degrees) Regulations, 2022.
